Saeid Shanbehzadeh

Saeid is a native of Busher, the southern provinces of Iran and a cultural crossroad for centuries. Busheri music is a unique blend of Persian, Arabic, African and Indian traditions.

After having studied with the old masters of Busher since his childhood and acquired proficiency in several instruments (ney-anbon, ney-jofti, dammam, boogh, Zarbetempo and senj), Saeid undertook ethno-musicological research throughout the Busher area and has become a living encyclopedia of its vast musical repertoire.

He lives today in Paris and heads the Busheri Traditional Ensemble that has thrilled audiences throughout the world. He recently worked with Pedram on "Teheran Nights".
